So it’s been a few months, not had the time to complete a write up for this one till now.
The Shorky21 is a macropad in design with the focus being on similarities with a standard ortholinear keyboard layout in a compact form.
It’s been designed so that it’s comfortable for gaming, the two bottom corner switches are designed to be 2U keycaps which allow for the thumb to rest on as if it were a spacebar on a standard layout. In the top corners there are two rotary encoders which can be configured as required.
Under the designated “Arrow” keys, each has their own RGB LED.
The biggest difference here is that I wanted to try out ZMK and wireless compatibility so have added features such as power switches and battery connectors, the entire keyboard is also designed as 3 seperate PCB’s to be sandwiched together.
As with previous projects, PCBWay will be providing me sponsorship to help bring this design to life which I’m greatful for as without this support, these projects would likely never see the light of day.
