My latest project is now here, the StenoWing.
This project come about as a result of my peaked interest in the world of stenography and the use of chorded keyboards. Unlike conventional keyboards these rely on chorded key presses to generate the words without the requirment to type each letter individually.
For guidance here I relied heavily on the Plover community.
The design started off in a similar winged form factor as the Ashwing66 although over time it was decided that a vertical stagger without the 30 degree angle made more sence for the functionality, the design includes the micro controller and the glass diodes visible on show on the front. Per key RGB and support for both Choc V1 and MX Switches.
As with previous projects I’ll be looking to have everything built by PCBWay who’ve now since been kind enough to sponsor many of my other projects.
Features
- MX and Choc V1 support
- Pro Micro compatible (16MB req)
- RGB Backlit keys
- Javelin Firmware with embedded dictionary
